Hope that you have had a great Christmas and are enjoying the holidays!
Now as the holidays come to an end, this is the time of year that millions of people are ready to start the dreaded (and dare I say, doomed, New Years Resolutions).
Dreaded – because generally whatever the resolution it involves some constant form of deprivation or requires far too much energy/time to be realistic
Doomed – it’s generally the all or nothing approach that fails to take into account our ever changing, busy day to day lives.
If you are looking to drop a few pounds or improve your health, fitness and general well being, here are my top tips to get you on the right track.
* You don’t always have to eat less, just make smarter choices. Vegetables, fruit, wholegrains/beans/pulses and lean protein sources are needed by the body, processed foods are not. That’s not to say crisps etc should never pass your lips but if they appear daily on your menu, results will be a long time coming!
* Get moving as much as possible. Workouts in themselves are often not enough, especially if you have a sedentary job.
* Don’t forget the water. Aim for those 8 glasses a day for the body to be effectively be able to carry out all its functions including fat loss.
*Manage your stress levels, get adequate sleep and keep positive 🙂
